At TSC, Gold Odoo partner in Belgium and France, we support our clients through every version upgrade. Odoo 19, available since September 2025, introduces major developments in the Accounting and Expense Tracking modules — with artificial intelligence and automation taking centre stage.
Odoo 19 features — Accounting Module
1. AI-powered document classification
Artificial intelligence automatically analyses and classifies incoming documents (invoices, receipts, contracts) into the appropriate workspace, or creates an invoice ready for validation. Result: less manual data entry, fewer errors, more time for financial analysis.
2. Rethought bank reconciliation
The bank reconciliation interface has been completely redesigned: intelligent action suggestions, autobot that learns from your behaviour to create automatic reconciliation patterns, and 3% logic that automatically validates small discrepancies without manual intervention. Keyboard shortcuts speed up daily operations.
3. Working Files — Integrated audit checklist
A guided year-end closing tool designed for chartered accountants: predefined controls, variance analyses, account validation. If a transaction modifies a validated account, its status automatically reverts to "To review". No more external Excel checklists.
4. Composite annual financial report
The balance sheet and income statement are grouped by default in a single annual folder, facilitating the preparation of statements and sharing with statutory auditors or banks.
5. Enhanced duplicate invoice detection
A persistent warning banner displays even after validation, and invoices identified as duplicates are automatically excluded from automatic validation.
6. Ask AI — Natural language financial analysis
Ask simple questions in French ("What is my revenue for Q1 2025?", "Which invoices are overdue by more than 30 days?") and instantly get analyses and graphical visualisations. Access to financial data is democratised, no technical training required.
7. Simplified tax positions and tax categories
Each tax now declares its applicable tax position directly, eliminating complex mappings. Tax categories are transferred to accounts to manage different rates per category.
8. Other notable improvements
- Audit reports created directly via Knowledge
- WhatsApp reminders available for reminder levels
- Analytical budgets accessible in the One App Free plan
- ISO20022: charge bearer specification and End-to-End identifier included
- Lightweight audit trail available by default for all
Odoo 19 features — Expense Tracking Module
1. Odoo expense cards (physical and virtual)
The flagship feature: create virtual or physical Mastercard cards for your employees directly from Odoo via Stripe Issuing integration. Control happens upstream — set spending limits and authorised merchant categories (restaurants, hotels, transport, etc.) before the expense is incurred. When a transaction is made, the expense report is created automatically. Employees only need to attach the receipt.
2. Partial deductibility per line
Management of mixed expenses (business / personal) is now configurable per line via an editable business percentage (default: 100%). The report displays two distinct amounts when deductibility is not total — in compliance with Belgian and French tax requirements.
3. Simplified validation workflow
The old "expense reports" are replaced by a multi-select submission/approval/validation workflow from the list, more intuitive and aligned with current practices.
What it changes concretely for your business
- Time savings: AI classification, automated expense cards, frictionless reconciliation
- Increased control: expenses are controlled before they are incurred, not after the fact
- Faster closures: Working Files + composite annual report reduce closing time
- Fewer errors: enhanced duplicate detection, 3% logic for bank discrepancies
