Context

Dom Mira, Lda. is a Portuguese textile manufacturer based in Mira, producing world-class technical apparel supplied to Decathlon. When Carlos and his team came to TSC (previously mainsail consulting), the factory ran on a mix of Excel sheets and years of production know-how held in people's heads.

Challenge

What had to be solved

The factory had grown faster than the tools running it. There was no real-time view of what was happening on the production floor, and no real-time view of stock either - every count meant walking the warehouse. Production problems piled up: schedule slippages, wrong batches, raw materials lost or misplaced. The team was firefighting instead of planning.

The knock-on effect went beyond daily operations. Dom Mira was turning down new clients because the factory couldn't absorb more demand without something breaking. The over-dependence on Decathlon wasn't a strategic choice - it was the direct consequence of an operation with no visibility, no traceability and no room to grow.

Deployed solution

What TSC put in place

TSC (previously mainsail) deployed five native Odoo Enterprise apps - MRP, Inventory, Purchase, Barcode and Sales - on a single Odoo Online instance, in three months from audit to go-live. Every production order flows from the sales order to the shop floor to finished-goods stock, updating inventory in real time. Operators scan receipts, transfers and picks on Zebra smartphones via the Barcode app - which also cuts the raw-material loss that used to disappear in the gap between systems. Reorder rules trigger POs automatically off min/max stock thresholds.
